(Jonathan Brown did this on Drupalcon Barcelona: he suggested on Drupalcon-website to come to a specific bar when one liked to meet Drupal-people the night before.
This bar got really crowded with drupallers, very nice come together!)

you can click for English, though the translation is by far not complete.
However, they have PHOTOS on the restaurants as well as phone numbers.

Normally we do not book tables here (unless important that you do get a certain table at a certain restaurant for 2< people), but since there will be the music festival and also the Drupal-lot-of-us, it is totally unpredictable how full the restaurants will be at dinner-time.

Drupal UK Meet-up

Hi guys,

A few colleagues and I were thinking it might be a cool idea to do meetup for British drupal developers on the third day of the event (29th Aug), which has been put aside for this sort of thing.

Potentially it could be a fun (and productive) night!

So if anyone has any ideas on whereabouts we should have it (a bar/pub I imagine), please go ahead and suggest somewhere.

Historical IT Collection

Take some time to visit this collection, which is unique in Europe. Since the mid ‘70s, a great effort has been done to collect mementos of the advances in informatics. As a result, the collection currently contains more than 10,000 units, weighs about 180 tons, of which several still capable of operation. Even though you need to do some advanced negotiation to access the collection, it is well worth visiting.

Sport, Thermal baths and swimming pools

If you can't live without sport there are several options in Szeged. Perhaps the biggest fitness center is the Gellért where you can play tennis, squash, do indoor climbing or fitness. Afterwards, relax in the sauna and/or in the bubble bath – as you like it. (Since it is a popular place, advance booking via phone is advisable.)

Botanic Garden (Füvészkert)

On the left bank of the Tisza, you can find the lovely botanic garden of the university. While you take a walk in its park or have a bit of rest on the shore of one of its two small lakes, you can enjoy a rich collection of flowers and trees from Hungary and around the world. You can wander among oleanders, jasmines, cactuses, or palm and cedar trees, just to name a few, or have a look at the oldest dawn redwood of Hungary. Additionally, you can also visit the greenhouse for some tropical specialties.

Zoo (Vadaspark)

The zoo offers several hours of pleasant pastime for its visitors. Under leafs of trees and on the shores of lakes, a plethora of animals await you in spacious yards. You can watch birds, mammals and reptiles from all around the globe (e.g., kangaroos, gibbons, lions, ostrichs, snakes, etc.). Some of them can only be found here in Hungary. Beside wild animals, the typical domestic animals of a farm of the South-Hungarian region can be seen in a small skansen as well.

Szin Festival

The website of the festival doesn't give any information in English, quite frankly it doesn't work very well (not mentioning names here, but it's not a Drupal site).

As a lover of music, I'm very interested in going, of course depending on who will be playing. Would it be possible to attend some concerts at the festival after the Drupalcon day is over? Where is it, how much would it cost, at what times are the concerts, where can I see the program, etc..? I'd be grateful or any answers :)

Anyone else looking for childcare?

Are there any other Drupal families out there going to Hungary? We thought it would be a good one to bring the kids to since it'll be a bit more intimate than usual, but we need to organise some childcare on the conference days.

Bar bringing someone, I was wondering if we could hire a nanny over there, or perhaps even organise some kid-happy programs if there were enough other families planning to bring their little ones.

Any ideas?
