Sport, Thermal baths and swimming pools

If you can't live without sport there are several options in Szeged. Perhaps the biggest fitness center is the Gellért where you can play tennis, squash, do indoor climbing or fitness. Afterwards, relax in the sauna and/or in the bubble bath – as you like it. (Since it is a popular place, advance booking via phone is advisable.)

If you prefer baths, Szeged can offer several of them for you. In the Local Sport Swimming Pool, adults can swim in the 50m long pool, while kids can play around in the 90cm deep practicing pool. Likewise in Újszeged (on the right bank of the Tisza) are the Thermal Bath, which is an indoor swimming pool of 36-40 ºC warm water, and the open-air Liget Bath. In the middle of the city is the popular Anna spa, the water of which is good for both internal and external use. Not only is the spa good for your health but the various pools, the Finnish and infra saunas, and steam baths offer a perfect place for relaxation in the beautifully renovated building.

On the outskirts of Szeged (22 minutes and 12km away from the city center) is the beach and camping of Sziksósfürdő. It offers a 75x75m-sized cold-water pool and some kids’ pools for swimming, and a lake for boating, windsurfing and other watersports.
