Conference booklet summary and bio
Article for conference booklet:
FOSS Factory mission is to accelerate the advancement of free/open source software (FOSS) by enabling collective design, funding and development of any software project. We have an online model (www.fossfactory.org) that lowers the barriers of entry for people to participate in the creation of complex open source projects by breaking the funding, design, and development responsibilities into smaller chunks, which in turn are pooled back together through our system.
Bios for conference booklet:
Abdullah Bakhach, winner of the Impact 2006 Entrepreneur of the year award is a passionate about open innovation and collaboration, particularly in the open source domain. He has co-founded FOSS Factory and is currently its Business Development director. He currently engages different open source communities to discuss different methods to augment and accelerate open source software development.

Overview

The same way Google has summer of code, this idea is to have something like Google year of code.

We're talking about a website where the community can collectively fund projects (ie bounties), design them collectively and fund them collectively.

This session is to hear your thoughts and ideas about the matter.

Agenda

* FOSS Factory, an introduction
* Does the community need this model
* If so, what's the idea way of using it (ie implemented within the drupal website or left as an external site)
* what kind of problems would be posted on it, what level of expertise would be required to solve them.

Goals

Basically I would like to know if this idea makes sense at all, and if it does, I would like to know how to make it happen.
